Burnt Umber is a near-black at #6F2E0F, warm-leaning. Dark colours show every ridge in the nail plate, so a ridge-filling base coat does more for the finish than the colour ever will.
A crème finish: flat, opaque and even, with no shimmer to hide behind. It is the most forgiving finish to apply and the least forgiving of bad prep.
